Internship at the European Seaweed Association - Help shape a sustainable future
Are you looking for a challenging internship where you can contribute to a sustainable and innovative European seaweed sector? Do you want to play your part in the transition to a sustainable future with a new and versatile resource? Then an internship at the European Seaweed Association (ESWA) is for you.
The Hague | 40 hours per week | 6 months | Start January 2026
What will you do?
As an intern at the European Seaweed Association (ESWA) you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the world of seaweed. Your commitment and creativity are important to our team.
You will actively contribute to a variety of projects and activities in the seaweed sector, depending on your interests and background. Examples include:

Supporting innovative seaweed farming projects

Helping to organise events, knowledge workshops and campaigns

Contributing to further development of the roadmap for the sector
You will do this together with stakeholders across the seaweed value chain and of course with the enthusiastic ESWA team.
Who are we looking for?

You are an enthusiastic bachelor or master student at a university or university of applied sciences with a passion for sustainability and innovation

You have a relevant study background and profile

You have a proactive hands on attitude and are able to work independently

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English

You are social and confident approaching people

You are available full time for a period of six months, of which at least two days per week at our office in The Hague

North Farmers - European Seaweed Industry (NSF) represents the interests of the European seaweed industry. Together with and on behalf of its more than 130 members, NSF strives for a successful sector in terms of market turnover, market share, sustainability, raw material security and employment. To do this, NSF performs three tasks:
• Advocacy (preconditions/bottlenecks) towards the European Union, national and local politics;
• Support of parties in the network where necessary and desired; and
• Providing information and promotion about seaweed
