In taxation and accounting, transfer pricing refers to the rules and methods for pricing cross-border transactions within multinational enterprises. In the current international debate regarding the allocation of taxes being paid by multinationals, transfer pricing is a constantly evolving and key focus area for multinationals, governments, and institutions such as the European Commission and the OECD.

As a junior associate within Baker McKenzie, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of assignments working together in multidisciplinary teams with attorneys , tax advisors and economists .
We are looking for a Junior Associate to join our international Transfer Pricing team, based in Amsterdam.
About the role
In your role, you will be part of a diverse and international Transfer Pricing team, working alongside tax lawyers and economists. You will work on a broad range of assignments including tax audits and tax litigation proceedings, but you may also be involved in economic analyses and financial modeling. This role offers an opportunity to work closely together with colleagues from other practice groups including corporate tax, customs, banking & finance, and corporate M&A departments.
You will work within our team on projects that include amongst others:
- Designing and implementing transfer pricing models and systems for large multinational companies;
- Assisting with transfer pricing audits and settlement discussions with tax authorities in the Netherlands and abroad;
- Supporting with transfer pricing litigation procedures or alternative dispute resolutions, such as mutual agreement procedures and arbitration procedures;
- Enabling the transfer pricing aspects of cross-border corporate reorganizations, post-acquisition integrations and business restructurings, including IP transfers;
- Participating in discussions with tax and competent authorities to obtain advance certainty on intra-group transactions through, unilateral, bilateral or multilateral advance pricing agreements;
- The preparation of intercompany agreements and transfer pricing documentation, including benchmarking analyses, that form the basis of the transfer pricing methodology applied by multinational companies;
- Contributing to valuation analyses, based on corporate finance methodology, either for the valuation of a business or for the valuation of specific types of IP.

- Master's degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics with knowledge of Dutch corporate income tax law. A basic understanding of procedural tax law is also appreciated;
- Affinity with economic and financial modeling, for instance through a Bachelor or Master's degree, Finance or Business Administration is a plus;
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
- Good organizational and communication skills;
- Relevant internship experience or up to 1 year of relevant working experience.
