Position overview
The HR Director Lubbers Group serves as both a strategic and operational HR leader for the Lubbers Group, supporting over 391 team members across various European countries. This role is instrumental in aligning HR strategies with business objectives, driving talent initiatives, and fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture. The HR Director is responsible for all HR matters within the group and leads the Lubbers HR team.
Close collaboration with regional leadership and corporate/regional HR is essential to deliver impactful talent development, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, HR operations, and labor relations. This position is ideal for someone who wants to develop and build the HR function at Lubbers Group, supporting the organization and its leaders in all HR aspects.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic HR Partnership: Responsible for the HR function at the lubbers group. Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and the Lubbers Group leadership team. Collaborate and seek guidance from HR representatives within AIT, ensuring HR strategies are aligned with business objectives across Europe (Germany, Netherlands, UK, Denmark, Romania, Italy).
- HR Data/Operations: Maintain HR systems with up-to-date employee data and oversee processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and promotions. Provide information for the ESG Sustainability Report. Promote data-driven HR decision-making (KPI & dashboard).
- Talent Management & Development: Lead initiatives in performance management, succession planning, and leadership development. Develop standardized job profiles and appraisal systems. Identify and nurture high-potential talent within the Lubbers Group.
- Employee Relations & Engagement: Offer expert guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and team member engagement. Champion a culture of inclusion, recognition, and continuous feedback throughout the group.
- Labor Relations: B uild a trustful relationship with Works council, guide leaders in any labor relation and labor law questions across Europe.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Design and implement a best-in-class recruitment process and onboarding experience tailored to the Lubbers Group's footprint.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local labor laws in each country, set up processes to maintain end set up compliance per country. Roll out Global HR policies, GDPR, ESG, and ISO standards. Partner with legal and compliance teams to manage risks and implement regulatory changes. Coordinate confidential counseling and ethics hotline.
- Workforce Planning: Forecast workforce needs, succession planning, build talent pipelines, and support strategic hiring across the organization. Monitor absenteeism and offboarding and improve related processes.
- Change Management: Implement consistent HR tools and processes based on HQ toolkit and European SOPs. Support change and integration initiatives.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a regional role;
- Work experience in the Netherlands and other European countries is preferred (Denmark, Germany, Norway, UK, Romania);
- Strong understanding of HR operations, contracts, country laws, unions, payroll, etc.;
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field;
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR practices;
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership;
- Experience in matrix organizations and cross-cultural environments;
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems;
- Strong communication skills (fluency in English) and interpersonal abilities.
