As a cost estimator, you are responsible for accurately calculating the costs of steel construction projects. You assess how much material, engineering, production, transport, coating, assembly and management are involved in a project, and convert this into a complete cost estimate that you discuss with your team and translate into a quotation for the client.

Key tasks of a cost estimator

• Reviewing the documents and drawings and visualising how the project will take shape.

• Discussing the documents and drawings with the client to ensure clear alignment.

• Extracting material quantities from the plans and requesting quotations from suppliers.

• Using all pricing and estimated hours, preparing a cost budget and discussing it with your supervisor and/or project managers.

• Converting the cost estimate into a quotation and sharing it with the client.

• Maintaining regular contact with the client.

• Providing project managers with details of any additional or reduced work during project execution.

What do we offer you?

• We value permanent employees; our intention is to move from a one-year contract to a permanent position.

• A good salary of between €3,500 and €4,500 gross per month, depending on your age and experience.

• A 40-hour working week with 25 holiday days and 13 days compensatory leave.

What do we expect from you as a cost estimator?

• Some experience in steel construction.

• Excellent communication and written skills in both Dutch and English.
