About the role

Ready to gain hands-on experience in risk management and power plant dispatch operations at RWE? Step into a working student position where you'll support the interface between these two departmens. This is your chance to gain practical knowledge of crucial business processes, collaborate with multiple teams, and contribute to the ongoing development of the "Dispatch Explainer" tool.

You'll work with an established codebase, help analyse and resolve technical or logical issues, and support improvements to existing tools and processes. If you're curious, reliable, and interested in how power plant dispatch decisions are made and evaluated, this role offers a solid learning opportunity.

• Take ownership of, maintain and further develop the existing "Dispatch Explainer"
• Troubleshoot technical or logical issues, ensuring our operations remain smooth and efficient
• Implement enhancements and suggest improvements to functionality and usability
• Foster strong communication and alignment with both Risk and Day-Ahead Planning & Dispatch teams

Job requirements and experience

• You are currently enrolled in a study program relevant to the tasks
• Confident programming skills, with a strong grasp of VBA and practical experience working with databases (preferably Snowflake)
• Skilled in MS Office, especially Excel, and able to translate complex numbers into clear insights
• Embrace a structured, independent working style and show strong ownership of your projects
• Fluent in German or English, enabling you to collaborate effortlessly across international teams

Advantageous, but not essential

• Experience with Python and its application in data analysis or workflow automation
