Your role

To expand our Product Research Center, we are looking for a Senior/Lead Test Engineer. The Lead Test Engineer is the central point of contact within R&D for the technical quality and test substantiation of systems within an R&D project. Over the years, Moba has grown into a global market leader with systems in 111 different countries, processing more than 1 billion eggs every day. From design, development, production, and installation to service, it all happens in Barneveld.

Moba develops modular machines that are assembled into customer-specific systems via configure-to-order. As Lead Test Engineer, you will work in the R&D department and be responsible for ensuring that a system meets the specified requirements, demonstrated by an appropriate and structured test approach in which risks are identified and covered. You will be involved from the start of a project through to system verification within the test environment.

You will not only search for existing test plans, but also draw them up yourself in consultation with the system architect. Based on the system requirements, you will translate architectural choices into a concrete test strategy and test plans. You will carefully analyze test results and discuss them with the architects, providing substantiated advice on quality, risks, and any necessary improvement actions.

You will work in multidisciplinary project teams with colleagues from R&D, product management, manufacturing engineering, supply chain planning, purchasing, quality, and service. As Lead Test Engineer, you will manage test teams on a daily basis and ensure the quality and completeness of the test results. You communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and are not afraid to escalate when necessary to guarantee the technical quality of the system and the project objectives. The position may require occasional travel abroad. In addition, we are looking for someone who can truly professionalize and continuously implement improvements, so that both the team and the organization are taken to a higher level.

Your duties and responsibilities:

• Communicates effectively at all levels within the organization and dares to escalate when necessary to ensure the technical quality of the system and the project objectives;

• Draws up the test strategy and test planning for projects and coordinates this with stakeholders;

• Works closely with system architects to analyze and translate architectural choices and technical requirements and ensure testable test specifications;

• Draws up test plans for prototypes, new functionalities, further development, and optimizations;

• Manages one or more test engineers who support you in testing systems at all relevant levels;

• Analyzing test results, securing test data, and providing feedback to the project teams;

• You are the central point of contact for the technical quality and test substantiation of systems. In that capacity, you advise the project team on a go/no go decision;

• Ensuring the test strategy complies with NPDL, taking into account relevant standards, quality norms, regulations, and business objectives;

• Initiating and ensuring structural improvements in test approaches and test tooling.

What we ask of you

• Higher professional education or university education in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering;
• Experience with various testing methodologies and within R&D, including simulation;
• Extensive system knowledge of mechatronic installations;
• Understanding of control systems, software, and interfaces;
• Strong analytical skills: you see connections between design choices and test results;
• Structured approach to work and documentation;
• Affinity with data, measurement, and improvement.
