    Vacancy: Chairman of the Board of the Youth Fund for Sports & Culture Rotterdam

    Make a difference for children in Rotterdam

    The Rotterdam Youth Fund for Sports and Culture enables children and young people from low-income families to participate in sports and cultural activities. This gives them the opportunity to develop their talents, build self-confidence, and participate in society.

    We are looking for a new chairman of the board for the foundation who wants to make a difference together with us.

    The role of the chairman:

    As chair, you are the face of the Youth Fund and play a key role in its positioning, development, and sustainability. You will chair board meetings, serve as a sparring partner for our coordinators, monitor strategy and policy, and represent the fund in relevant networks.

    The coming period will be marked by transition. Together with the Rotterdampas, we're exploring a new direction to reach more children and increase our impact. You'll take the lead and shape a future where the fund is firmly rooted in the city.

    This position is unpaid and requires a commitment of approximately 12 hours per month.

    We are looking for an inspiring and connecting leader with:

    • Strategic insight and experience in administrative and political environments.
    • A relevant network in Rotterdam.
    • Affinity with the target group: a genuine passion for equal opportunities for children.
    • The ability to guide an organization through a period of change.

    Essential competencies:

    • Connecting leadership: you create an open, constructive work environment and connect management, employees, and (external) partners.
    • Employer role: you conduct interviews, assess performance and encourage development.
    • Political sensitivity: you effectively liaise between the municipality, national organization, and local partners.
    • Management experience: preferably in a social organization in transition.

    Together with four other committed board members, you will ensure that the Youth Fund emerges from the upcoming transition stronger and more future-oriented!
