What will you do as a purchaser

As a purchaser, you play a key role both in the preparatory phase and during the execution of a project. You receive requests from the estimating department regarding materials, processing and equipment. It's your responsibility to verify these requests with our suppliers and provide the necessary information back to the estimating team based on your analysis and findings. Throughout the project, you are responsible for placing orders for materials such as steel, fasteners, gratings, galvanising and more. You coordinate closely with the project manager, work planner and suppliers to ensure that deliveries are made on schedule and at market-conform prices. You are also responsible for checking incoming orders to confirm that the goods match our purchase orders. Your professional approach and accuracy are invaluable to the successful delivery of our projects.

Core tasks of a purchaser

Your tasks include identifying, selecting and evaluating the most suitable suppliers, negotiating prices, delivery dates and purchasing terms, and maintaining regular contact with suppliers regarding orders and schedules. You are also responsible for ensuring that incoming goods comply with agreed specifications by checking them against our purchase orders. Maintaining supplier relationships and staying up to date on market information and pricing are also key parts of this role. Finally, concluding, maintaining and monitoring purchase contracts form an essential part of your responsibilities.

What do we offer you?

We place great importance on building a stable team, which is why we aim to move from a one-year contract to a permanent position for the right candidate. As a permanent employee at Foldam Staalbouw, you can expect a good salary of between €3,500 and €4,500 gross per month, depending on your age and experience. We also provide a company phone and offer a 40-hour working week with 25 holiday days and 13 days compensatory leave. In addition, you will receive a profit-related bonus after 12 months of employment. What do we expect from you as a purchaser?

In this role, it's essential that you have some experience as a purchaser and a commercial mindset with a win-win attitude. You should also have strong written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English. Proficiency with everyday computer programs is also required for this position.
