Executive Board Member
As a member of the United Netherlands Executive Board, you will collaborate with a team of university students to deliver the organisation's programmes and represent UNL. United Netherlands is a student‑led, internationally oriented organisation that focuses on the world of international relations and diplomacy . The Board is responsible for the daily execution of UNL's programmes and operations , working towards the foundation's mission to create a platform where talented, ambitious and motivated young people develop their potential as global citizens .
This position is both creative and rigorous by nature: you will coordinate programmes, manage stakeholders and help shape UNL's strategic direction. To be successful you will need solid problem‑solving skills, the capacity to work autonomously within a team and the discipline to deliver on commitments.

Responsibilities

Own your deliverables, set timelines and milestones, and report progress to the Board, Supervisory Board and Advisory Board

Liaise with Radboud University, trainers, sponsors, alumni and partner organisations; maintain relationships with delegates, schools and external partners.

Work closely with fellow board members, distribute tasks to executives and committees, and foster a collaborative culture.

Maintain documentation, budget tracking, inbox management, planning documents and meeting minutes.

Develop events, partnerships and opportunities to promote UNL's mission; innovate in programme delivery and participant experience.

Represent UNL professionally at conferences, university events and in communications; uphold UNL values and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
Must Have

Enrolled in (or formally admitted to) a research university in the Netherlands throughout the entire board year

Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) and the ability to represent UNL externally.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively; reliable, proactive and disciplined.

Planning discipline and ownership: capable of juggling long‑term projects and day‑to‑day tasks.
Nice to have

Prior board, committee or leadership experience.

Dutch language ability (helpful for outreach and partnerships).

High learning agility and willingness to learn; adaptable to new challenges.

Collaboration mindset and interpersonal skills.

The Board works closely with the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board, which offer formal and informal advice and provide workshops on teamwork and safe learning environments . Workshops and coaching sessions offered by the Advisory Board on topics such as teamwork, leadership and creating a safe learning environment , plus opportunities to attend external trainings relevant to your portfolio.
Travel & Events
Opportunities to support programme travel to Oxford International Model UN and Harvard Model UN , and to organise UNL events and conferences. Travel participation is subject to selection, funding and planning.

Regular board meetings, team‑building sessions and social events; work closely with fellow students and build friendships in a national and international network.
About us
Every year since 2003, United Netherlands has sent a delegation of about 30 students to two of the biggest Model United Nations simulations in the world: OxiMUN (Oxford) and HNMUN (Harvard). These delegations of United Netherlands have won many awards, such as ' Best International Delegation ', ' Best International Delegation ' & ' Best Large Delegation ', and ' Outstanding Delegation '. Each year, many individual awards are won by separate delegates such as ' Best Delegate '.
