Stages

RAVON voert onderzoek uit naar amfibieën, reptielen en vissen. In ons onderzoeksprogramma staan de onderstaande thema's centraal, klik op het thema waarin je geïnteresseerd bent om te zien of wij hiervoor een stage/afstudeermogelijkheden hebben. Wij bieden stageplekken voor zowel MBO, HBO als Master studenten.

We ontvangen een groot aantal stageverzoeken via open sollicitaties en kunnen ze helaas niet allemaal faciliteren. Reageer daarom a.u.b. gericht op de weergegeven stageopdrachten.

This project is part of a major land restoration effort and aims to enrich the database of the population of native reptiles such as Anolis bimaculata and Anolis schwartzi, and hermit crabs inhabiting the Quill National Park. Based on an established protocol, the distance sampling surveys aim to assess the effect of fencing on the recovery of biodiversity in selected sites. Baseline surveys have been conducted during late winter / early spring 2024, and the first replicates have been carried out in the beginning of 2025. Frequent and periodic surveys are requested to monitor and evaluate the current situation, and they are fundamental for providing feedback on the current land restoration and habitat protection efforts.

As a critically endangered species, most focus on this species is its conservation status and protecting its last populations. Though its functional ecology is poorly understood. The goal of this project is to better understand whether and which invertebrate species are dependent on iguanas, through their faeces. Primarily, you will build a dataset of iguana faeces throughout the year. Subsequently you will assess all invertebrate taxa that were present in these samples, identify them to species/genus/family level and help understand diversity and temporal patterns. Building this dataset will require frequent surveys for faeces collection as well as detailed labwork to identify invertebrate taxa.

Tijdens jouw communicatiestage bij RAVON krijg je te maken met een breed en afwisselend takenpakket. Je schrijft persberichten, creëert en bewerkt video's, ontwerpt content voor sociale media en denkt mee over manieren om onze organisatie nog beter zichtbaar te maken. De stageperiode is flexibel en mogelijk gedurende het hele kalenderjaar 2025 en 2026.
