With our products and services, we manage 40% of the mortgages in the Netherlands. About this role
What will you be doing?
As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for orchestrating the release of new software versions and enhancing the processes surrounding software deployment. You'll oversee the entire delivery lifecycle-from development to emergency patching in production. A key part of your role involves coordinating regression testing and aligning stakeholders across the organization.
We operate in a fast-paced environment with a CI/CD pipeline and tri-weekly release cycles. Our ambition is to evolve toward flexible, on-demand releases that deliver customer value at the right moment.
You'll work closely with a team of five colleagues within the release management department, and collaborate with clients, business teams, product owners, scrum teams, and technical operations.•• Lead and coordinate software releases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Facilitate regression testing and ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Continuously evaluate and improve release processes and documentation.
• Monitor release progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality control.
• Participate in internal and external meetings, working groups, and improvement initiatives.
Skills
Who are we looking for?
You are a strong communicator and a natural coordinator who thrives in dynamic environments. You bring clarity, structure, and calm to the release process. You're solution-oriented, proactive, and resilient, with the ability to influence others through well-reasoned arguments.
You're also comfortable working remotely on approximately 5 Sundays per year to support critical releases.
Additionally, you have the ability to maintain a holistic view of the entire IT landscape. You can quickly identify relationships between different issues and dependencies, and build a comprehensive understanding of how systems interact. This skill enables you to anticipate potential impacts and make informed decisions that support seamless releases.
You also have:
• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• A solid understanding of IT and software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile).
• Experience with Lean Management and ITIL.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with test management and release governance.
