Join our Research Office and play a key role in strengthening research in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

As a grants advisor you have a deep knowledge of research funding programs (especially NWO, NWA, ERC and other pillars of the EU HE program) and you can match new funding opportunities with researchers from the various disciplines within the Social Sciences, Humanities and Religion and Theology studies. You have the skills to support researchers in coordinating proposal development by providing advice on proposal content (reviews), grant conditions, (individual) funding strategies and management.

You are embedded in the ambitious and enthusiastic team of the Research Office. You will be working closely with our other grants and project management advisors, our project managers, data and ethics officer, policy advisor and impact developer. Our team is supported by the colleagues of the IXA-Grants Office, Project Control, Legal Department, HR and Business Control.

  • Familiarizing yourself with research topics in the social sciences and humanities and identifying interesting funding opportunities for both individual grants and research consortia
  • Proactively reaching out to researchers to develop their funding strategies and turn preliminary ideas into proposals
  • Help building consortia and working closely with researchers in preparing well-structured and high-quality research proposals
  • Coordinate internal support and the administrative side of proposal development and the submission process
  • Building a network of internal stakeholders and mobilize their expertise for proposal development, contract negotiations and project management
  • Contributing to a smooth project implementation of awarded proposals
  • Initiating workshops for the researchers on certain funding schemes and topics
  • Proficient in both Dutch (>B2 level) and English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of and experience in supporting scientific research
  • Affinity with the Humanities and/or Social Sciences is a plus
  • Proactive and hands-on in coordinating multidisciplinary questions from researchers and handling them in consultation with relevant departments and colleagues
  • Positive disposition, pleasant in communication, able to manage multiple questions and projects simultaneously

  • a salary of minimum € 3.546,00 (Scale 10) and maximum € 6.433,00 (Scale 11) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile Knowledge Valorisation Officer 3, Knowledge Valorisation Officer 4. The exact salary depends on your education and experience.
  • Your employment contract will initially last 1 year.
  • A full-time 38-hour working week comes with a holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year. If you choose to work 40 hours, you have 96 extra holiday leave hours on an annual basis.
  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus
  • optional model for designing a personalized benefits package

The Research Office is the first point of contact for researchers, faculty board and management for research-related matters such as research funding strategies, grant applications, project management, data management and research policy and ethics.

The SSH disciplines are characterised by an open way of thinking and the natural urge to seek coherence and connection.

The faculty consists of nine academic departments within three schools: School of Religion & Theology (SRT), School of Social Sciences (SSc) and School of Humanities (SH).
