The history of this company started in 1943. Six shipyards - specialized in dredgers, among other things - then started to work together. These were: Gusto in Schiedam, Conrad, since 1941 called Stork-Hijsch, in Haarlem, J. and K. Smit in Kinderdijk, L. Smit & Zoon in Kinderdijk, Verschure & Co.'s Shipyard and Machine Factory in Amsterdam and De Klop in Sliedrecht. In 1965, these formed the company IHC Holland (IHC stands for: Industriële Handels Combinatie), specialized in dredging equipment.
As a welder at the Capacity Center Kinderdijk, you will work 100% on welding work for the Constructions and Hull Assembly departments. You are responsible for:
Preparation:
Reading technical drawings and welding instructions.
Checking workpieces for dimensions, shape and cleanliness.
Execution:
Welding with various methods: electric, CO2 (also mechanized), MIG/MAG.
Working with different materials: steel and stainless steel.
Performing FP and DP welds, assessed via external NDT research.
