    THE POSITION

Do you want to make an impact on strategic decision-making in an international, project-driven environment? For the Finance & Control department in Rotterdam, we are looking for an FP&A Consultant to strengthen the FP&A team. In this role, you act as a strategic advisor and trusted business partner to (senior) management. You deliver sharp, data-driven financial insights that guide decision-making and key strategic processes such as the Annual Plan and Long Term Plan.

In addition, you play an active role in further digitalising and professionalising financial processes and data analytics. In this role, you report to the Manager FP&A.

    YOUR IMPACT

As an FP&A Consultant, you act as a trusted financial partner for management and business teams. You help move the organisation forward by translating complex questions into clear insights and concrete actions. Through your analyses and advice, you directly contribute to performance improvement and strategic choices. Your responsibilities include, among others:

    • Acting as a financial business partner for (senior) management, providing clear insights and forward-looking advice to support decision-making
    • Supporting and coordinating the Planning & Control cycle, including cost forecasting (e.g. personnel costs), the Annual Plan and the Long Term Plan
    • Supporting strategic and investment decisions through business cases, financial (scenario) analyses, benchmarking and impairment analyses
    • Strengthening management reporting, performance analyses and portfolio and project risk reporting, and ensuring the effective operation of the Internal Control Framework
    • Contributing to the digitalisation, data analytics and automation of financial processes, and leading or coordinating finance-driven improvement initiatives and projects

    ABOUT YOU

You are a proactive, analytical and results-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment. You combine strong communication skills with a hands-on mindset and are able to translate complex analyses into clear decision-support. In addition, you bring:

    • A completed BSc or MSc in Business Economics, Finance or a similar field (CMA, CFA or RC is a plus)
    • At least 4 years of experience in FP&A, business control or another financial role within a complex, project-driven environment
    • Proven analytical skills, with experience in investment analyses, business cases and portfolio steering
    • Experience with project-based working or project management, for example in finance transformation, digitalisation or process improvement initiatives
    • Strong communication skills and a good command of the English language, with an interest in the maritime and/or civil sector

Van Oord offers a challenging role with ample room for professional and personal development within a strong and stable organisation. You can expect:

    • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
    • Company car and home working allowance (€2.40 per day)
    • 32 holidays (of which a maximum of 7 are collective)
    • Variable bonus, partly dependent on company results
    • Attractive pension scheme
    • Option for collective health insurance (Van Oord pays for your supplementary package)
    • Flexible home working arrangement; on a full-time basis, you can work from home 2 days a week
    • Extensive development opportunities, including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz
    • Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the Van Oord staff association
    • Various events and sports activities, such as skiing, sailing weekends, cycling, and motorcycling

Acquisition in response to this vacancy is not appreciated.
