Junior Naval Architect
Imagine this: the sea as your canvas, and you drawing the lines.
Saltwater is looking for a Naval Architect who sees beyond the horizon. Someone who effortlessly blends technical skill with sharp insight, designing smart solutions for complex projects on the water, together with our team of expert engineers.
Your impact in this role:
- Developing vessel designs from concept to basic engineering
- Preparation and execution of inclination tests and stability calculations
- Design and implementation of different ship systems, such as Ballast Water Treatment Systems
- Determining vessel motion behavior by performing complex calculations with dynamic analysis software
With this skillset, you're good to go:
- An "MBO", AD, BSc. or Msc. degree in Naval Architecture
- You can start in this role as a junior with 0-2 years of experience
- Expert knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD/BricsCAD and specialist software such as Optimoor and HECSTAB
- Strong communication and social skills
- A positive attitude and team spirit
We offer:
- A salary between €3.300 and €4.400 per month based on full-time employment, depending on knowledge and experience. Excluding a 5% additional allowance and profit sharing based on team performance.
- Excellent secondary benefits, including 31.5 vacation days (25 standard + 6.5 extra)
- 39-hour workweek with early Friday afternoon finish

"At Saltwater, I'm living proof that anything is possible. I started here as an intern in January 2011, now I've been a Lead Engineer for four years. In this role I act as the link between our clients and our team, making sure we deliver on time.
As a Junior Naval Architect you'll work on diverse projects that truly support your professional growth. What excites you about this opportunity?
I joined Saltwater over three and a half years ago as a graduate intern. Today, I'm a Naval Architect, blending structural with marine engineering and occasionally taking on project work. What keeps me inspired is the variety, the supportive team, and our strong learning culture.
