About Monumentenbezit
Monumentenbezit is committed to preserving cultural heritage by maintaining, researching, and repurposing a unique collection of monuments, with opening them to the public being an important part of this.The 32 national monuments, spread throughout the Netherlands, consist of churches, towers, memorials, ruins, country estates, and fortifications. No fewer than five of the objects are included in the Top 100 monuments of the Netherlands, and the fortifications of Naarden have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For a temporary maternity leave replacement, we are looking for an Educator & Program Developer who will bring our monuments to life for elementary schools, families, and other visitors.
What are you going to do?
As an Educator & Program Developer, you develop programs for primary education and activities for families, children, and other private visitors. You work for Slangenburg Castle in Doetinchem, Radboud Castle in Medemblik, and the Ruins of Brederode in Santpoort Zuid, among others.
- You design appealing programs and activities that suit the location.
- You develop formats that are reusable, but leave room for the unique character of each monument.
- You experiment with new working methods and perspectives. And think outside the box in terms of programming and collaboration partners.
- You contribute ideas on how heritage education within Monumentenbezit can be further developed.
- You will work together with colleagues from Public Outreach and with local stakeholders.
- You evaluate and improve existing activities.
Profile:

- Has experience in developing educational programs for elementary schools and families.
- Has a clear vision of heritage or museum education.
- Creative and able to turn ideas into workable programs.
- Works independently, but enjoys collaborating with colleagues.
- Has an eye for inclusion, accessibility, and diversity.
- Is willing to be present occasionally on weekends.
- Possesses a driver's license and is willing to travel between our locations.
What we offer:
- A temporary position lasting approximately six months, from mid-April to mid-October 2026.
- 24 to 32 hours per week
- Location: Vesting Naarden, with regular work on site
