Where we work

Our IT department is located in The Hague - the vibrant heart of our digital operation. Here we build, manage and secure the systems that make the IND's work possible. But your job is not limited to one location. We collaborate with colleagues across the country, both in person and remotely, so your knowledge and impact extend beyond one location.

Our work can take you to Den Bosch, Schiphol, Leiden, Zwolle, Zevenaar, Budel, Amsterdam or Ter Apel. But no matter what location you work at, you are always part of a close-knit and ambitious IT network that collectively shapes the future of the IND.

Scrum, agile and innovation

Our Information Services Department (IV) is where innovation and social impact come together. IV consists of four departments: Production House, Data Services, Strategy & Coordination, and Continuity & Technical Management. Every day, our staff of over 500 dedicated IT specialists works to build solutions that are secure, reliable and future-oriented.

With over 30 in-house scrum teams, we develop the software at the core of the IND's operations. Thanks to SAFe and DevOps, we are continuously improving as we create event-driven architecture and microservices.

We are currently updating our entire application landscape, adopting the latest technologies so that we can focus on innovation and efficiency. You will be working closely with legal representatives, decision-making staff and other specialists. No two days are the same, and each week brings new challenges and opportunities to make a real difference.

Our technology stack

Imagine working with a stack that is just as versatile as the challenges we face. With us, you will dive into Java and .NET, supercharge your building speed with Mendix and RPA, strengthen security and performance with Elastic Stack, Kafka and AxonIQ, and design smart processes with Camunda and Spring. You will have the opportunity to experiment with databases such as MongoDB, Neo4j and PostgreSQL, and to run large-scale cloud solutions with VMware CF and Kubernetes. Furthermore, we are increasingly focussing on AI and machine learning: from smart data analysis to decision-support systems that help our colleagues work faster and more accurately.

The Future Information Services (TIV) programme

The Future Information Services (TIV) programme is shaping the IND's digital future. This multi-year transformation programme will completely overhaul our information services, laying the foundation for faster, more reliable and more people-oriented work. Step by step, we will be replacing our old INDiGO system with a modern, flexible and scalable application landscape. This will allow us to share information with applicants more efficiently and give our colleagues the tools they need to be more productive and accurate.

To achieve this, we're looking for talent in a variety of areas: software development, analysis, architecture, project management/support, information security, data management and modelling, testing and rule management.

TIV is about much more than just technology. It is about innovative architectures, data-driven processes, and customer journeys that make a real difference. It is one of the largest digitalisation programmes within the Central Government. This gives you the opportunity to work with the latest technologies as part of multidisciplinary teams, developing solutions that have a national - and international - impact.
