As a Data Engineer, you will be at the heart of this mission, building the digital backbone that makes AI decision making possible. You'll design and optimize scalable data pipelines that fuel decision-making, powering reliable BI reporting today and accelerating innovation for AI-driven analytics tomorrow.

You won't do this alone. Working closely with architects and stakeholders, you'll ensure best practices in architecture, governance, and performance. You take ownership, move fast when needed, and enjoy seeing ideas come to life. Bold ideas are not just welcome here, they're expected.

Example project

Imagine a project at Nedap where we build a unified data platform that empowers employees to discover insights on their own. With the help of data agents, colleagues can ask questions in plain language;such as "What is our revenue trend per customer?" or "How many subscriptions were cancelled last month?";;and instantly receive reliable answers.

This way, people can experiment with ideas without technical barriers, make faster decisions, and explore new opportunities. While existing reports and processes remain supported, we bring innovation directly into the hands of our users.

Your responsibilities

• Design and optimize data pipelines for structured and unstructured sources
• Apply modern data architecture patterns (e.g. medallion) and governance standards
• Collaborate with your team on platform and tool choices
• Safeguard data quality, integrity, and performance across all layers of the platform
• Proactively identify improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
• Experiment with the latest features in Microsoft Fabric and translate them into practical solutions
• Share your expertise with colleagues and help raise the maturity and impact of the whole team
• Balance innovation with stability, making sure the platform serves both new and existing needs

We work across domains such as Finance, Operations, HR, and business, ensuring insights are available where they matter most. Required experience and skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in similar projects;
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and Spark;
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, or Databricks;
• Knowledge of data modelling and layered architecture;
• Ability to set best practices in CI/CD, automation, and governance;
• Curiosity to explore AI and MCP as new ways of working with data.
