    As a Marketing & Communications Intern, you will be part of an energetic team and gain valuable experience in social media, public relations, and digital marketing while contributing to a worthwhile cause.

    The Great Bubble Barrier is a Dutch social enterprise, founded in 2017, which developed an effective technology to stop plastic pollution in rivers before it flows into our oceans, using bubbles. Our Bubble Barrier technology captures plastic across the entire width and depth of rivers, operates 24/7, and does not disrupt regular river activities.

    You will be working on:

    • Content Creation and Copywriting - for social media and our blog
    • Content Scheduling - scheduling content for our social media channels
    • Community Management - fostering an engaged online community and interacting with them in a way that leads to conversions
    • Email Marketing - regular updates about our work, and the fight against plastic pollution
    • PR & Media - writing press releases and sending out media updates to media outlets
    • Events - supporting the MarCom and Sales team at events
    • Administration - Assisting the MarCom team with admin-related tasks

    You will gain valuable experience in:

    • Digital Marketing
    • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
    • Experience: Basic knowledge or interest in Digital Marketing & Communications, i.e. Social Media Marketing, Community Management, blog writing, content creation, and/or copywriting, design
    • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Mission Alignment: Genuine interest in ocean health, sustainability, and preventing plastic pollution
    • Location: Office-based in Amsterdam with flexibility for remote work
    • Duration: Available for a minimum of 12 weeks (3 months)
    • Allowance: 375 EUR gross per month

    • Policy Monitoring: Monitor relevant legislations, regulatory changes, and policy developments at local, national, and international levels, and provide updates
    • Political Research: G ain insight in ideologies of political parties at local and regional level
    • Advocacy planning: Create overview for key contact moments with political stakeholders
    • Event & Meeting Coordination: Scheduling, organising and preparing for meetings with key stakeholders by providing research materials and assisting with the creation of the agenda.
    • Advocacy Support: Helping to draft policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials.
    • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor or Master's degree in Political Science , International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration, or a related field.
    • Experience: Basic knowledge or interest in policymaking , politics, market regulation, or circular economy.
    • Communication Skills: Strong writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independent and collaboratively. An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances

    • Experience: You have experience or an interest in technical systems, maintenance planning, data analysis, or lifecycle assessment, and are eager to learn through hands-on experience. You are curious, motivated, and enjoy exploring complex technical information with guidance from the team. Familiarity with tools such as Excel or LCA software is a plus, but not required
