    About the job

    As a Fibre Optic Fitter, you will be an important link in the delivery process of extensions and modifications to fibre optic networks. You will mostly work in existing networks and will use your knowledge and experience to make business deliveries a success every time in cooperation with immediate colleagues. Naturally, you will have access to a fully equipped Glass van with associated equipment such as OTDR, welding machine, video microscope, etc. Your daily work will consist of welding, testing and assembling fibreglass. You have technical insight and a technical background. In addition, you are accurate and can communicate well with our customers. You show initiative in certain situations and have a flexible attitude to working hours.

    Some of your duties include:

    • Responsible for execution of fibre optic work in accordance with work descriptions, work documents, instructions, quality requirements, regulations and planning.
    • Keeping track of material consumption per project and submitting this upon completion of work
    • Identifies and reports deviations to the contractor and proactively comes up with alternative solutions
    • Photographing work performed and deviations
    • Informs the superintendent daily regarding the progress of the work, any remaining items and reports connections that are ready the same day RFS* in accordance with the work agreements made.
    • Carries out remedial actions related to quality (performance), environment, damage and other issues as appropriate.
    • is responsible for stock management of its own car stock.
    • behaves and dresses correctly and representatively at all times.
    • is responsible for accurate and timely feedback on work performed, residual points including reporting completed connections.
    • is executive on HSE policy.
    • Carry out the work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations within the organisation regarding safety, health and leaves the workplace tidy and tidy
    • Small civil works, excavation of handholes and KMZ sleeves
    • Supporting measurement technician.
