ING Wholesale Banking has an interesting opportunity available for an ambitious and commercially driven sales person. We are looking for a Relationship Manager for ING's Payment Service Providers (PSP) clients in the Netherlands and beyond. As Relationship Manager you are managing the day-to-day relationships with these clients and as a conductor you ensure in close cooperation with the various product teams. Main products include Payments, Financial Markets, Capital Markets & Advisory and Lending. You will report locally to the Head of FI Netherlands.

WB Sector Financial Institutions

The FI sector team has a leading position in providing Financial Markets, Lending, Trade Finance, Payments & Capital Markets and advisory services to Financial Institutions. Clients consist of banks, financial sponsors, insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers, trust offices, private equity and fintechs.

The FI sector team manages ING's FI relationships on a global basis. The dedicated FI sector team is crucial for ING as, amongst others, it manages reciprocity envelopes for ING and FI's client base is crucial for origination activities.

Relationship Manager PSPs

You will be responsible for client relationship management for all clients allocated to you. You will maintain an active dialogue and play a leading role in transactions which have a large impact on our clients. You work closely together with various product specialists across ING. In all your activities you will strive to meet client needs in the best way, using all of ING's products, knowledge, and international network.

As Relationship Manager PSPs your responsibilities include

  • Building client relations and maintaining a continuous dialogue with our PSP clients in the Netherlands and beyond
  • Driving the strategic dialogue with clients, and discuss beyond-banking initiatives
  • Pro-actively generating opportunities and transactions that serve our client's needs. Taking the lead in responding to RfP's
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the PSPs
  • Maintaining active contacts with other departments within ING such as Financial Markets, Transaction Services, Lending, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and Risk Management
  • Contributing to the team targets, including revenues, and maximize the quality of those earnings
  • Safeguarding timely delivery of flow business & deal opportunities, and high-quality and seamless customer due diligence & transaction execution
  • Preparing and managing commercial and credit approval processes together with the FI Lending team
  • Driving and monitoring non-financial risk associated with these clients, including KYC activities
  • Guiding, training and supervising junior members of the team

About you

  • You are an experienced banker in the PSP space, aware of key trends and regulatory framework and developments
  • Relationship-driven, people-oriented, team player and strong communicator
  • An ambitious professional
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • International experience and cultural sensitivity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen
  • A pro-active professional with a strong personal drive and a high level of self-motivation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Wholesale Banking product suite
  • Strong project and time management skills. Ability to manage a large variety of tasks simultaneously whilst performing under tight deadlines

Candidate Profile

  • Academic Master's degree, 10 years+ of WB experience with demonstrated understanding of PSP eco system
  • Cultural- and organizational sensitivity
  • An entrepreneurial mind set
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Dutch and English
