Driver & waste collector for a sustainable company

This company is responsible for the collection, coordination and processing of waste and material streams for companies in urban areas. The overall aim is to reduce the residual waste stream, to turn waste into valuable raw materials and to increase the livability by limiting (polluting) transport movements. In short; a not so ordinary waste collection company! The hub is located 15 minutes by bike and 26 minutes by bus from Rotterdam Centraal Station.

Job description

As a driver you will work independently, you are responsible for collecting waste and raw materials from many companies. Your tasks include:

• Carrying out the logistic process of collecting, transporting, storage and sorting of waste and materials.
• Registration of collected waste and materials.
• Maintaining and expanding the relation with customers.
• Reporting to the team about things you see, hear, smell and experience.
• Driving an electric vehicle with a trailer on the back

You will be working outdoors and it is a hands-on job.

Job requirements

• Available asap.
• Available to work 16-32 hours per week. Must be available at least one weekday and one weekend day.
• Ability to work a full shift is preferred, but multiple morning or later shifts are also acceptable.
• Available for at least 6 months, preferably longer.
• You work well both independently as well as in a team.
• You have driving license B .
• Proactive and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
• You like to work outdoors.
• Living in Rotterdam.
• You are fine with physical work, as the job is physically demanding and requires lifting heavy containers.

Hours & salary

You are expected to work 16-32 hours per week. Shifts are possible every day of the week and the most regular shift times are:

08:30 - 13:00 and/or 13:00 - 17:00 (Full shifts are also an option and are preferred).

Your salary will be €15,- per hour, regardless of age.

After one year of employment: €16,- per hour.

You will be provided with working clothes.

Sustainability & Circularity: you help make the city waste-free through separate collection and high-quality reuse of raw materials.

Additional information

There are 4 rounds in the application process:

Round 1:Screening of CV and availability by Brave Ones

Round 2:Online interview conducted by Brave Ones

Round 3:Offline introduction and tour at Oscar Circulair Amsterdam with you. This round always takes place offline in Amsterdam, regardless of whether you will eventually start in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, or Utrecht. This allows you to see the vehicles so you get a clear picture of the role. If both you and the company are positive at the end of the meeting we will proceed to round 4.
