Member of the assessment committee of the Board for Testing and Examinations (CvTE)

As of August 1, 2026, a vacancy will arise in the assessment committees of the Board for Testing and Examinations (CvTE), which will be filled on the recommendation of the AOb and the CNV can be filled in. We are looking for a teacher who works in secondary education and teaches Dutch to the final year classes of pre-university secondary education (havo/vwo) (270 hours).

An assessment committee works on behalf of the CvTE (Central Examination Board). The assessment committee determines the assignments and marking regulations for the central examination on behalf of the CvTE. The members of the assessment committee are teachers working in secondary education. The chairperson comes from a post-secondary education institution at the level for which the assessment committee determines the examination. Your employer receives compensation for your work. The meeting day of the Dutch pre-university secondary education (HAVO) and pre-university education (VWO) assessment committee is currently on Friday.

A member of the determination committee:

• assesses and approves the examination papers and marking instructions for the central examinations for Dutch at pre-university and senior general secondary education (havo) and pre-university education (vwo);

• advises on the standardization of the central examinations for Dutch at pre-university and senior general secondary education (havo) and pre-university education (vwo);

• is contributing to the construction assignment for the Cito Foundation for the central examinations of the Dutch language subject at pre-university secondary education (havo) and pre-university education (vwo).

Our ideal candidate

• is authorized to teach Dutch to pre-university secondary education (havo) and pre-university education (vwo) exam classes;
• has good professional knowledge and skills in the field of Dutch at pre-university and senior general secondary education level;

• has experience in teaching and examining Dutch as a subject in exam classes in senior general secondary education (havo) and/or pre-university education (vwo);

• is aware of the updated examination program and is interested in developments within the Dutch language and literature field.

It is an advantage if you:

• has expertise in the field of examination and testing;
• has experience and/or demonstrable affinity with the Dutch language.

Members of determination committees must be able to do their work freely, without being tied to a particular point of view or position. Therefore, membership of a determination committee cannot be combined with:

• the authorship of a teaching and/or educational method
• membership of the Cito construction group (or recently been)
• the chairmanship or membership of the board of a professional association

Task compensation and legal position

You will receive a contract for performing your work in a selection committee. This includes compensation according to the Act on compensation for advisory boards and committees and the Decision on compensation for advisory boards and committees Generally, as a member, you remain employed by your employer. They then release you to carry out assignments for the CvTE. The employer receives compensation for this. If there is no exemption, we will pay the compensation (personal or business) to you.

Application procedure

Candidates can apply up to and including March 23 2026 Apply. In the following week, all submissions will be evaluated, and applicants will receive a response regarding a possible invitation for a follow-up interview. The follow-up interviews with invited candidates will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

After the interviews are completed, a preferred candidate will be presented to the CvTE, which will make the final formal appointment decision.
