What will you do as a bicycle mechanic at this company?This company makes 270,000 customers happy every day with a properly functioning bike, including 70,000 in Amsterdam! You can imagine that some bikes break down each day ;) These bikes need to be repaired so they can be reused and make a customer happy again. Curious? Keep reading!

What does your workday look like?

You start at 3:30 PM with a joint team meeting where the goals of the day are discussed, and of course, there’s room for questions. Then you get to work with your colleagues. You take a bike from the rack and inspect it to figure out what’s wrong, going over the entire bike. You can think of it as a vehicle inspection (APK) but for a bike. After giving the bike a proper clean-up, you take it for a test ride to check if it runs smoothly. Once it passes, you place the bike on the repaired bike rack and move on to the next one.

We don’t expect you to know how to repair a bike from top to bottom right away. The company provides an onboarding program. During this period, a trainer is always available to support you with any questions.

If you master the job fully after 2 to 3 months and are working independently, the company will be happy to discuss the next step in your career. This could include switching to the day shift, which runs 8-hour shifts—more hours for you! In the long term, you can even grow into a role as an e-bike mechanic.

We don’t expect perfection from our bicycle mechanics, but there are a few things we do look for:

• You are available Monday to Friday from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM

• You are looking for a job of 22.5 hours per week

• You are technically inclined and/or willing to learn

• You are proficient in English
