We are looking for a Gardener in Vegetable Production with Market Garden and Polytunnels (m/f/d). Schloss Türnich is a unique place in the Rhenish mining district-almost an island of culture and nature, nestled in the Erft floodplain just outside Cologne. For years, we have been developing the estate into a "Yes, there is another way"-location: a place where sustainability is lived on many levels. Discover our natural gardens, the enchanting castle chapel, the wild yet curated park, our Demeter-certified

agriculture including Market Garden, Solawi, agroforestry, regenerative fruit and arable farming, plus our 100% organic café-where the kitchen brings farm produce directly to the plate. Schloss Türnich is increasingly becoming a source of inspiration for sustainability.

Your role

• Co-lead vegetable production in a dual management system using Market Garden methods,

polytunnels, and approximately 0.5 ha of field area.

• Plan and execute crop cultivation, care, harvest, and marketing, including weekly harvest

planning, quality control, and creating delivery notes.

• Organize direct marketing via Solawi, farm shop, and gastronomy (including distribution, sales,

and delivery).

• Guide and support staff, interns, volunteers, and Solawi members in daily operations and during "get involved" days.

• Communicate and coordinate with approximately 100 Solawi members, as well as the

organizational team and administrative support.

• Maintain and expand customer contacts, particularly with gastronomic businesses.

• Organize events: workshops, tours, information sessions, participation in team meetings,

weekend shifts, and farm festivals.

• Help design educational projects and further develop the operation.

• Network with other organic farms and participate in Demeter regional meetings.

Your profile

• Completed training or equivalent qualification in organic or biodynamic horticulture.

• Solid experience in organic vegetable production, ideally biodynamic and Market Garden

cultivation.

• Leadership experience and enthusiasm for instructing staff, volunteers, and Solawi members.

• Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills.

• Willingness to work collaboratively in dual leadership, with Solawi, and with gastronomic clients.

• Driver's license category B.

• Willingness to work weekends.
