Customs Manager

Roveg Fruit B.V. is a leading importer and exporter of fresh fruit and vegetables. Due to the wide variety of products and customers, no two days at Roveg are ever the same. The Customs Department plays a crucial role in the transportation of our goods. Our team is responsible for import and export declarations, certificate applications, inspection requests, document processing, and bonded warehouse administration.

What will you do?

As a Customs Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Customs department. You lead an international team of 8 customs declarants. You work alongside the team, coach and develop your team members, and continuously improve departmental processes. Additionally, you are the main point of contact for customers whose customs clearance is handled by Roveg.

Your responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing the Customs team
• Creating weekly and monthly work schedules
• Acting as an advisor to senior management
• Handling air and sea freight processes
• Independently preparing all types of customs declarations in accordance with regulations
• Reporting and resolving customs-related issues
• Stay in contact with various government authorities like KCB and NVWA
• Overseeing import and export inspections
• Drafting and submitting objections and petitions
• Processing bonded warehouse administration
• Handling import duties and related taxes

Who are you?

What are we looking for?

• MBO+ / HBO level of education;
• Certified customs declarant diploma
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in customs operations;
• A hands-on mentality and willingness to go the extra mile (no 9-to-5 mindset)
• Strong command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
• You are also: stress-resistant, flexible, have a helicopter view, communicate clearly, set the right priorities, and stand your ground when needed.
