Career opportunity: Head of Atelier

At Iris van Herpen we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organized Head of Atelier. This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam.

Working closely together with design, atelier, sales, and PR teams to ensure timely and efficient processes are in place to deliver Couture dresses of the highest quality for clients, runway shows, and VIP dressings in time. Planning and coordinating the activities of the atelier. Hiring and guiding junior team members and apprentices. Managing a team of 25-30 employees, freelancers, and apprentices.

- Previous experience in a similar role

- A degree in fashion, textiles

- Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills and the ability to manage a team under time pressure

- Ability to inspire and motivate a large and diverse team

- Large sense of responsibility and takes ownership of the entire process

- Advanced knowledge of all facets of the Couture process; patterns, illustrator files, sewing

- Available full-time and flexible in working hours in busy periods

- Excellent written and spoken English including the industry jargon

Create and manage communication strategies for the brand's current and future areas of PR activity, executing plans with press and media through partners, VIPs, collaborators, and content creators.

Initiate, structure, and manage commercial and creative brand collaborations.

Build and manage relevant and effective PR and communications strategies.

Foster and develop vivid press, stylists, and collaborators network and relationships.

Initiating new opportunities to heighten brand awareness.

Pen, distribute and monitor seasonal and ad-hoc press releases.

Develop and execute a strategic VIP outreach and placement program to showcase couture garments at relevant red-carpet, art, film, music events.

Communicate and coordinate with VIPs, stylists, agents and their teams to secure fittings and dressings for public appearances.

Pitch and secure brand and designer interviews and feature stories.

Press coordination and management for fashion shows, events and private sales events.

Coordinate and conduct seasonal collection atelier previews and showroom re-sees.

In collaboration with an appointed PR agency for fashion shows, to identify, invite and manage the guest list and seating plan.

VIP outreach for front row attendance during fashion shows.

Fashion show and event on-site VIP and media management.

Coordinate content creation for PR, press, digital and communications usage.

Create, distribute and manage fashion shows and events media kit.

Possesses strong knowledge of regional and global fashion, art and media events.

Has a healthy and thriving network of existing relationships within press, stylists and/or VIPs.

Showcases excellent interpersonal communication skills and a high level of discretion in interactions with VIPs, press, stylists, collaborators, and partners.

Has previous experience working for a Couture house or environment.

Strong time management skills and prioritization with the ability to work under tight timelines.

Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

BA in Communications, Marketing, Media Relations, PR or related field.

Work experience within Communications, Marketing, Media Relations, PR or related field.

Minimum of three years of work experience within the fashion industry.

Career opportunity: Embroidery & Lasercut developer / designer

This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam.

Working closely together with the atelier team on technical files for lasercutting, garment construction and development of fabric manipulation that requires computer vector filemaking.

- Experience in the fashion field with focus on digital artworks

- Experience in working with garment patterns.

- Experience with creating embroidery and lasercut files.

- A degree in architecture, industrial design, product design, graphic design and/or in fashion.

- Excellent logical, constructive and spatial aware way of thinking

- A natural feel for organization, time-management and managing a team under time pressure.

- Knowledge of 3D programs is an advantage

- Command of the industry jargon in English
