Project Engineer

Are you analytically strong, do you enjoy working on projects and do you get energy from a well-prepared and smoothly running project? As a Project Engineer at Van der Ende Steel Protectors Group, you will prepare projects in detail. You develop plans, draw up calculations, coordinate with subcontractors and ensure that everything concerning permits and documentation is correct. You support the project team and monitor progress.

The Van der Ende Steel Protectors Group is a family business and one of the largest metal preservation companies in our country. They work for leading clients in both the (Petro-)chemical industry and Infrastructure. On a large scale, Van der Ende carries out maintenance projects on installations at refineries, tank terminals and on bridges, locks and station buildings. To a large extent, they do this on the basis of long-term framework contracts concluded with the major refineries and tank terminals. Some of these contracts have been in place for more than 30 years. Projects may include scaffolding, civil engineering and mechanical work in addition to metal conservation. Execution of the projects takes place in a complex environment where risks with regard to surroundings, environment, safety have to be managed integrally.

In recent years, the company has experienced significant growth. In order to continue to meet the high expectations of our customers and to realize the further growth of our company, we are immediately looking for an experienced Project engineer to strengthen our Industry department.

The work in brief:

• Develop implementation plans
• Measurement and analysis of applications
• Preparation of calculations
• Coordinating work between subcontractors
• Support in risk and stakeholder management and LEAN planning processes
• Handle work orders, timesheets, unit rate forms and (daily) reports
• Prepare work, including permit applications, stakeholder consents and coordination, and supporting documentation.
• Preparation and review of markup and delivery files.
• Participate in quality takeaways.
• Support project manager and contractor(s).
• Planning and coordinating (minor) work.

What we ask of you

• Completed college education, civil or mechanical engineering or business economics
• 3-5 years work experience in a similar position;
• Well-developed analytical skills and persuasiveness;
• Independent and orderly personality;
• Flexible-minded and you like to work hard;
• Practical minded and have broad interests;
• You can prioritize yourself and always look for the most practical solution to problems;
• You see it as a challenge to remain critical of existing work methods and systems and know how to improve or streamline them where possible.
