Since 2022, we have been part of Cofra's Sustainable Food Group, a family office with a long-term perspective. Our vision: to become the international market leader in sustainable greenhouses. To guide our future plans, we are expanding our team with an experienced Proposal Engineer.

The Role

As a Proposal Engineer at Dalsem, you play a crucial role in the sales and business development process. Your primary responsibility is to create convincing and detailed proposals in response to requests from potential clients. You analyze client needs, perform technical calculations, prepare cost estimates, and ensure that all proposals meet the set requirements and quality standards. You work closely with sales and engineering to develop the best technical and commercial solutions. You stand firm and are capable of discussing technical aspects with suppliers and internal teams.

Your Responsibilities Include:

- Analyzing client needs and sales offers: Understanding customer requirements, including reviewing technical specifications, project scopes, and other relevant documents.

- Technical calculations: Performing technical calculations for greenhouses and facilities using the Casta program, including calculations for greenhouse construction and shading installations.

- Cost estimation: Estimating the costs associated with the proposed solution, including material costs, labor costs, and all other project expenses.

- Document preparation: Writing and drafting proposals for greenhouse projects, ensuring they are clear, concise, and professional. The proposal includes technical details, project timelines, pricing, and other relevant information.

- Compliance: Ensuring that the proposal meets all requirements and checking that all necessary documentation and certifications are included.

- Quality assurance: Reviewing the proposal for accuracy and quality, checking for any errors or inconsistencies before submission.

- Client meetings: Participating in meetings or negotiations with clients to answer questions or provide additional information.

Job requirements

You have a strong technical background, preferably in the (greenhouse) horticulture sector or another highly technical project organization, and knowledge of cost estimation techniques for developing accurate pricing for proposals. You are analytical, customer-oriented, and have an eye for detail. Additionally, you are capable of engaging in technical discussions with suppliers and internal teams.

Furthermore, You Have:

- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or another relevant technical field, combined with a few years of experience in proposal engineering.

- Experience working with AutoCAD.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- A team player attitude, providing professional support to demanding clients.

- An open-minded, flexible, proactive approach, with the ability to multitask.

- Proficiency in both English and Dutch, written and spoken.
