To realize our growth ambitions, we are looking for a Process Technologist to help us further optimize and scale up our upstream and downstream processes.

About the Position

As a Process Technologist at Phycom, you will play a key role in the further development, improvements, and assurance of the production processes used to produce and process our microalgae on an industrial scale.

You will work closely with colleagues in production, development, quality, and maintenance. With your knowledge of bioprocesses, data analysis, and scale-up, you will directly contribute to stable, efficient, and sustainable production.

Your responsibilities

• Optimizing, standardizing, and validating upstream and downstream processes.
• Setting up and analyzing process data to realize improvements in performance, quality, and resource utilization.
• Translating lab and pilot results into robust production processes (scale-up and implementation).
• Troubleshooting process deviations and initiating improvement processes.
• Contributing to the implementation of new technologies, automation, instrumentation, and sensor systems.
• Drafting process documentation, protocols, and work instructions.
• Supporting product development and innovation projects together with the development department.

Your profile

• Completed higher professional or university education in Biotechnology, (Bio)Process Engineering, Food Technology, or Chemical Technology.
• At least 5 years of experience in a fermentation, food, or biotechnological production environment.
• Solid knowledge of hygiene, microbial processes, and CIP and SIP processes.
• Practically strong; able to design and help build processes.
• Analytical strengths and skilled in working with process data.
• Communicative, accurate, and able to translate theory into practice.
• Enthusiastic about sustainability, innovation, and biotechnology.
