Where will you be working?

Within the Operations Day Team, we work every day to improve our terminals and keep them future proof. We do this with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and collaboration. In your role, you represent operations in projects ranging from maintenance preparation to major investment and improvement projects. Think of jetty projects, firefighting systems, vapor handling, soil remediation, and E and I upgrades. Your base location is our Nieuwe Maas Terminal in Pernis, right in the heart of the dynamic terminal environment.

Representative activities

As an operations improvement engineer, you have a hands on mindset and play an active role in the operational preparation of maintenance activities. As the terminal representative, you are the link between operations and projects. You act as the voice of operations and ensure that projects are not only technically sound but also practical and safe to execute.

Your responsibilities include

• Representing operations within the Chane Project Management System
• Project preparation such as defining scopes of work for sustaining capex and improvement projects
• Safeguarding compliance requirements related to safety, regulations, and installations
• Contributing to planning with an eye on customer and operational impact while keeping downtime as short as possible
• Preparing maintenance activities at the front end of the process
• Ensuring smooth handover of installations from operations to maintenance and back again
• Protecting operational interests during design, execution, training, and handover
• Participating in HAZOP and MoC sessions from an operational perspective

You work closely with operations engineers, project teams, and other internal stakeholders. You connect people, ask the right questions, and maintain oversight.

What do you bring to the table?

You have a solid operational foundation and understand how terminals operate in practice. You understand different interests, can switch between levels, and always think one step ahead.

We are looking for someone with;

• A bachelor level of working and thinking
• At least six years of experience in operations
• Experience in the terminal industry is a strong plus
• A strong sense of stakeholder management
• Structured planning skills and a sharp eye for improvement
• A practical mindset and a solution oriented approach
