Working in the HVDU Department

The High Voltage Distribution Unit (HVDU) department is at the forefront of developing advanced power distribution systems for electric vehicles. Our product ensures safe, efficient, and intelligent management of high-voltage energy across the vehicle's architecture-playing a critical role in enabling electrification and sustainability in mobility.

The HVDU team operates across multiple international locations, including Hengelo (Netherlands), Sofia (Bulgaria), and Antrim (Northern Ireland). This diverse setup fosters a dynamic and collaborative environment, where cross-cultural teamwork and global perspectives drive innovation and excellence. Internship Purpose / Objective

This internship offers a practical introduction to business case development and financial scenario analysis within a project-driven environment. The intern will support the creation and maintenance of business case calculations and contribute to strategic decision-making by modeling the impact of scope changes. They will:

• Support the development and maintenance of business cases , including tracking component costs, sales prices, volumes, and engineering efforts.
• Analyze the financial impact of scope changes , identifying risks and opportunities to improve or recover the business case.
• Model different scenarios to support project decisions and highlight potential trade-offs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and ensure business case accuracy.
• Develop a structured approach or tool for maintaining and updating business cases, with the goal of handing over a usable and scalable solution to the project team at the end of the internship.

This internship provides valuable experience in financial modeling, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. The intern will contribute directly to the robustness and adaptability of business cases used in project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain business case calculations with up-to-date cost and pricing data.
• Track and update volumes, engineering efforts, and other key inputs.
• Analyze scope changes and calculate their impact on the business case.
• Identify opportunities to improve or repair business cases based on scenario outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to gather and validate data.
• Develop and document a repeatable process or tool for business case management.
• Support the handover of the developed solution to the regular project team.

Required Qualifications / Skills

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering & Management

- Strong communication and analytical skills

- Proactive, eager to learn, and detail-oriented

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with key focus on Excel

- Language skills: English required; Dutch preferred
