Internship Mechanical Engineering

In Hoofddorp you will join approx. 100 of our colleagues as we design new products for the hearing health and pro audio market. Whether you prefer doing CAD work for injection molded parts, designing tools for new problems that arise during development or helping further our inhouse 3D printing capabilities, Sonion can find a fit for your skillset. We offer internship positions every semester and are always on the lookout for new talent to join our team.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include

• Designing housings and other plastic components in CAD;
• Testing and developing tooling;
• 3D printing prototypes and tooling;
• Helping to develop our new prototyping processes, such as lasering, 3D printing and proto-injection molding

Your profile

• Currently studying for an engineering degree, Industrial Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or similar;
• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Sonion is an international company and with the Hoofddorp office we have colleagues from all over the world. Basic/fluent Dutch is a plus;
• CAD experience. Our main CAD package within Sonion is SolidWorks. However we also make use of Autodesk Fusion360 and Meshmixer. If you have experience with Inventor, Catia or another CAD package then we can give you the training required to use SolidWorks.
• Proactive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.

Equally important to your knowledge and experience, are you as a person. We are looking for a person, who is proactive, eager to learn, hands-on and results driven. You can also interact effectively with people from all backgrounds.
