What will you do?

In this international role, you are responsible for developing, advising on, implementing, auditing, and reporting on health and safety (H&S) processes across all of Alfen. You identify trends and translate them into concrete recommendations for our three product lines: Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC) , Energy Storage Systems (ESS) , and Smart Grid Solutions (SGS) .

With your sharp eye and strategic mindset, you connect safety and health to culture, leadership, and performance. You actively contribute to building a safety culture that goes beyond compliance-focusing on awareness, behavior, commitment, and continuous improvement.

Where will you work?

You'll be based at Alfen's headquarters in Almere, at the heart of the energy transition. With innovative, in-house developed products and years of experience as a system integrator, Alfen is building a sustainable, reliable, and future-proof electricity grid. You'll work in an international, fast-growing, and dynamic environment where innovation is key. Within the H&S team-consisting of three other Advisors and a team lead-your primary focus will be on the dynamic production environment of our three product lines.

Your responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the strategic vision on health and safety at Alfen
• Developing and documenting safe and executable policies, standards, and processes
• Conducting (in-depth) risk assessments and implementing action plans
• Ensuring that changes are well-managed from an H&S perspective
• Preparing, conducting, and reporting on audits and drafting action plans
• Reporting and documenting safety data and risk analyses
• Conducting incident investigations (knowledge of Top-Set is a plus)
• Operational management of the Crisis Management Team

What do we ask of you?

You are a decisive professional with a results-oriented and structured approach. You know how to engage people at all levels of the organization, treat them with respect, and communicate effectively. You also bring:

• A completed MBO or HBO degree, preferably in Safety (MVK/HVK) or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in Health & Safety
• Experience with ISO 45001; experience in a similar industrial/production environment is a plus
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations; familiarity with NEN 3140 and/or NEN 3840 is a plus
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
• The ability to translate data into practical insights and improvement initiatives
• Experience with digital management systems and incident investigation is a plus
