Will you become the face of our gallery?

The Haagse Kunstkring is looking for an enthusiastic and welcoming gallery assistant!

You will welcome visitors, show them around the exhibitions and contribute to a professional and pleasant atmosphere in the gallery. You work together in a close team and are visible to the public. Hospitality and sales go hand in hand.

Over de Haagse Kunstkring

On the Denneweg in The Hague, the Haagse Kunstkring is a place where art, creators and the public meet. With three exhibition rooms, a sculpture garden and a showcase for small work, we organize monthly changing exhibitions, regularly supplemented by lectures, talks and music.

What you will do

As a gallery assistant, you will receive visitors and explain the exhibitions. You sell works of art, books, CDs and other articles and handle these administratively. Together with a colleague you take care of a well-kept and hospitable gallery. You will work at least one afternoon every two weeks, on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Who are we looking for

You are enthusiastic, hospitable, polite and representative. You have an affinity with art and culture and enjoy informing visitors about content as well. You understand that sales is an important part of the job. You have basic knowledge of computers and a good command of the Dutch language. You are willing to participate in consultations and joint moments.

What we offer you

As a volunteer with the Haagse Kunstkring, you will be part of a committed and motivated team and receive good guidance when starting out. You will participate in monthly art introductions (Kunst Werkt) in which the exhibiting artists explain their work and backgrounds. There are monthly work meetings with all gallery staff. You will work in a place with a rich and long history and with a current and active art practice.
