Job descriptionAre you skilled at setting up category strategies and ready to play in the top league? Then we would like to meet you to discuss this rare career opportunity. You will formulate and implement the category strategy for sweeteners, gluten, starches, hydrocolloid. You will plan, optimise and coordinate cross-functional purchasing for these categories, develop suppliers and drive innovation for the group. This requires intensive communication and collaboration with a large number of stakeholders. You will be responsible for the quality and continuity of supply.

Your main tasks

• Developing category plans and purchasing strategies for the respective raw material categories in collaboration with relevant departments (local purchasing, MRD, SC, QESHR), creating transparency in the SC from farm to fork and ensuring compliance with legal and environmental requirements
• You implement sourcing plans (in accordance with the defined sourcing strategy) and support local purchasing departments in the purchasing process.
• You select, qualify and evaluate global (preferred) suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, conclude (framework) contracts and monitor/improve their performance.
• You are also the link in the innovation funnel for the bread and pastry categories, as well as in optimisation projects in that category.
• You monitor, analyse and report on (market) developments and trends

Requirements
Are you a purchasing specialist with growth potential and a passion for the food sector? Then we would like to get to know you better.

• You have purchasing experience in an (international) food environment.
• Experience with category management is a big plus.
• Knowledge of sourcing agro-commodities
• MSc or BSc in a relevant field of study
• Negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Strong project and programme management skills
• Well-developed stakeholder management skills and a natural urge to collaborate internally and externally
• You are fluent in English
• You will be expected to travel in Europe [up to 10% of your time].
