We have a unique job opening for a Development Officer Africa at Aqua-Spark! Do you want to join us on our mission to radically change the aquaculture value chain to healthier more sustainable and more accessible production while generating financial returns for our investors.

The role

The Development Officer Africa at Aqua-Spark is a responsible, strategic and proactive person. This role is all about actively growing our investor base by identifying, approaching, and converting new leads into long-term partnerships. In this role you will focus on our Africa fund. You are someone who thrives on initiating contact, crafting tailored outreach, and building genuine connections with investors who share our mission. The Development Officer drives force in mobilizing new capital for Aqua-Spark Africa's growing portfolio, and a trusted relationship-builder for both new and existing investors. This is a high-impact role for someone who combines commercial instinct with purpose, and who brings the energy and discipline to generate momentum in a complex, relationship-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify, generate, and convert new investor leads, with a focus on DFI's, private wealth and with a focus on Africa .
• Lead investor conversations from first contact through to onboarding and relationship management
• Represent Aqua-Spark at investor meetings, events, and conferences, and open new channels for outreach
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with both new and existing investors
• Collaborate with leadership to shape capital raising strategies and investor messaging
• Contribute to the development of investor materials, updates, and communications
• Maintain accurate investor records and pipelines in CRM systems
• Stay informed on trends in sustainable finance, aquaculture, and impact investing

Profile, qualifications and skills

• At least 5+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, investor relations, or business development in the investment and/or impact space
• Demonstrated experience engaging with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs)
• Proven track record in bringing in and retaining significant investment relationships
• Solid experience working in and across emerging markets, with strong cultural and contextual awareness
• Native-level English speaker with excellent communication and storytelling skills
• Solid understanding of fund structures, financial metrics, and the dynamics of capital raising
• Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Venturelytics) and digital communications
• Comfortable speaking to senior stakeholders, both one-on-one and in group settings
• Willingness to travel internationally
