    De BosBoerderij is a for-purpose organisation, a Steward-Owned Company and a Foundation, dedicated to restoring farmland and landscapes. We achieve this by operating commercial syntropic farms, where people play a vital role as Forest Farmers, reconnecting with nature while regenerating the land.

    We're now seeking a Business Developer & Sales Lead who bridges the gap between field and market. If you're passionate about regenerative produce and want to ensure that more of what we find in stores and industry products comes from regenerative agriculture, this is your chance to make a real difference!

    Like all roles at De BosBoerderij, this position combines office and field work. You'll spend part of your time working hands-on in our syntropic plots, in direct contact with the vegetables, herbs, and fruits you promote and sell through various sales channels. This field connection deepens your product knowledge and sales strategy - empowering you to authentically communicate the beauty, quality, and regenerative story of what we grow into compelling commercial relationships. At our field you are primarily involved in harvesting and crop logistics.

    Your Role as Business Developer & Sales Lead

    You'll establish partnerships and secure sales contracts for our diverse harvest: regular vegetables, perennial vegetables, medicinal herbs, berries and fruits grown in our syntropic systems. You'll spend and 1-2 days per week building the commercial channels that bring our regenerative agriculture to market.

    Key Responsibilities

    You'll own the commercial success of our production sales, working across partnerships, market development, and communication coordination. This means taking responsibility for making our products visible, valued, and successfully sold.

    Business Development

    • Build Sales Channels: Establish and maintain relationships with restaurants, retailers, processors, and institutional buyers
    • Negotiate Contracts: Secure sales agreements for vegetables, perennial vegetables, herbs, and fruits from our syntropic production
    • Identify Market Opportunities: Research and pursue new markets and buyers aligned with regenerative agriculture values
    • Pricing Strategy: Develop pricing models that reflect the quality and regenerative value of our products while ensuring commercial viability (true pricing)

    Product Development & Innovation

    • New Product Research: Research and propose new products from our harvest to expand our commercial offerings and maximize the value of our regenerative produce
    • Processing Methodologies: Explore and evaluate processing methods that facilitate new products
    • Realization & Implementation: Coordinate the development and realization of new product lines, working with processors, partners, or internal capacity
    • Market Opportunity Identification: Identify emerging market trends, gaps, and opportunities in the regenerative food sector that align with our production capabilities

    Communication & Marketing Coordination

    • Sales Materials Development: Coordinate directly with designers to create crop catalogues, product sheets, and promotional materials
    • Social Media Content: Coordinate social media communication showcasing our products, partnerships, and the story behind our syntropic farming
    • Brand Storytelling: Translate the regenerative agriculture story into compelling sales narratives
    • Point of Sale Materials: Translate the regenerative agriculture story into compelling retail displays, including recipes to learn how to cook with seasonal vegetables and other creative ideas

    Field Operations & Product Knowledge

    • Weekly Field Work: Get closer to our syntropic plots to understand seasonal production, crop quality, harvest cycles, and product characteristics firsthand
    • Product Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of our crops to communicate their unique qualities and benefits to buyers
    • Harvest & Processing Support: Support field operations during produce harvest, processing, and sales preparation stages
    • Logistics Coordination: Ensure logistics are executed to deliver products to established partnerships on time and to specification. Work closely with field leads and the field team to coordinate harvest schedules, processing workflows, and delivery timelines

    What Makes You the Ideal Candidate

    • Procurement & Sales Experience: Proven track record in sales and/ or procurement - you understand both sides of the buying equation
    • Relationship Building Skills: Natural connector who enjoys building and maintaining commercial relationships
    • Commercial Acumen: Experience with pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and business development
    • Communication & Coordination: Strong ability to work with creative teams and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
    • Comfortable in Field & Office: Happy working both outdoors in agricultural settings and in professional sales environments
    • Digital & Marketing Savvy: Experience coordinating communication efforts, social media, or marketing materials
    • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English
    • Interest in Regenerative Agriculture: Genuine passion for syntropic farming, agroecology, or regenerative food systems (deep agricultural expertise is a plus but not required-farming knowledge comes from our team)
