Primary School Teacher (substitute)

DENISE, our thriving and growing school with an international focus, is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to deliver English-language lessons in Grades 3 and 4, who can start as soon as possible.

Who we are

DENISE is a (Dutch) primary and secondary school in Amsterdam for students aged 4 to 18, with a diverse population of Amsterdam-based students, newcomers, and internationals. We are an innovative school with a clear mission: to provide education that meets the needs of a diverse student body. Our team consists of more than 125 passionate and highly qualified staff members from all over the world, who together provide education to approximately 1,000 students.

Our curriculum is internationally oriented and focused on developing both academic and personal skills.

About You

You are an experienced teacher and hold a recognized teaching qualification (this is a requirement). You have an affinity for working with multilingual students in a school environment where there is respect for everyone's identity and uniqueness.

Your Role

• As a teacher at DENISE, you contribute to the school's mission and vision. You will be responsible for the English-language days in Grades 3 and 4; your job-share colleague will teach on the Dutch-language days.
• IEYC is used in the early years, and IPC is central to our curriculum from Grade 3 onwards. In addition, we work with programs such as Reading Eggs and the Dutch mathematics method Getal & Ruimte.
• Your working days will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Availability on Thursday and Friday is essential; flexibility regarding Wednesday is possible.

What We Offer

• A temporary contract of 0.6 FTE from 1 March to 31 July (5 months)
• Salary in accordance with the CAO Primary Education, scale LB/LC (minimum €3,622 and maximum €6,432 gross per month based on full-time employment), depending on relevant experience
• End-of-year bonus (8.33%)
• Holiday allowance (8%)
