The Board

The board collectively holds responsibility for:

-defining and safeguarding policy and strategic direction;

-financial oversight and good governance;

-supporting and advising the director;

The board meets approximately six times per year. Board positions are unpaid; members may claim reimbursement for travel and other expenses.

CHAIR

The Chair plays a central role in guiding NDSM FUSE into its next phase of growth and impact. You safeguard governance, lead the board and act as a strategic sparring partner for the director. You foster an open and constructive board culture and are attentive to the specific context of a bottom-up organised art institution in a rough, industrial environment.

Profile - Chair

-Familiar with the cultural landscape of Amsterdam (preferably also Amsterdam-Noord).

-Affinity with bottom-up organised cultural initiatives and artistic development practices.

-Excellent communication skills and strong self-reflective and corrective capacity; pragmatic and risk-aware.

-Organisationally strong and decisive, with a sense of governance relationships.

-Possesses a relevant network in Amsterdam-Noord or is able to build one quickly.

BOARD MEMBER

As a board member, you actively contribute to the strategic development and financial stability of NDSM FUSE. You are an engaged discussion partner for the director and team and contribute ideas on societal relevance, inclusivity and local embedding. You help build a future-proof organisation that leaves room for experimentation and artistic autonomy.

Profile - Board Member

-Affinity with contemporary art and culture.

-Understanding of, or interest in, working outside traditional museum structures.

-Analytical skills and attention to detail.

-Strong communication skills; a natural and respectful discussion partner.

ATTENDANTS for 6 hours a week

This is a voluntary position

Are you interested in art, would you like to meet artists and their work and do you have at least 6 hours a week to immerse yourself and others in one of the hippest places in Amsterdam? Then this is the place for you!

NDSM FUSE is an independent artist-run presentation floor for contemporary art in the NDSM hangar in Amsterdam North. The stage for research and experimentation by artists and makers on NDSM .

As an attendant you will be the face of NDSM FUSE . You will welcome visitors, inform them about the exhibitions and help out in the NDSM FUSE SHOP where artworks and merchandise are sold. You guard the artworks and make sure the visitors feel invited to try out the interactive artworks. In addition, you will make sure the space is neat and presentable.

NDSM FUSE is open from Thursday untill Sunday from 12h-18h. It is possible to swap shifts. An attendant will be present at least 3 hours a week.
