You'll be responsible for the entire hardware process-from drawing electrical schematics and engineering control systems to component selection and creating control cabinet layouts. Thanks to your expertise in Eplan and knowledge of standards like NEN 3140, you'll design systems that are both technically sound and practically feasible.
Your duties as an Electrical Hardware Engineer include:
As an Electrical Hardware Engineer your duties include:
- Designing conceptual, basic, and detailed designs of electrical installations in accordance with applicable standards and customer specifications;
- Selecting and integrating electrical components, such as switches, servos, relays, power supplies, terminal blocks, and PLC hardware;
- Creating and managing electrical diagrams and cabinet layouts in Eplan;
- Preparing cable calculations, spare parts lists, and layout drawings for control cabinets;
- Supporting renovations and modernizations of existing installations or machines;
- Collaborating with the mechanical and software disciplines for optimal integration of your hardware into the overall design;
- Identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements in existing systems;
- You will work both in the office and on-site at customers' sites. This allows you to see your designs come to life and gain insight into various production environments.
As an Electrical Hardware Engineer, you recognize yourself in the following:
- A completed vocational (MTS) or higher professional education (HBO) degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field;
- Several years of experience in hardware engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering, energy, or industry;
- Familiarity with E-PLAN, SEE Electrical, or Electrical AutoCAD;

- A strong work ethic and strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- A willingness to embrace diverse projects and client environments.
