Coare is looking for a talented Senior Architect with a strong sense of design, detail, organization, and the ability to guide the talent development of our team. Are you someone bursting with ideas, who enjoys working in a team but also likes to dive deep independently? Then we are looking for you!

At Coare, we work on projects that address current social and spatial issues. Our focus is on contemporary themes: broad prosperity, timber construction, (semi-)government, and housing. We believe that architecture is a direct means to make the living environment more sustainable, inclusive, and future-proof.

In your role as a senior, you will work on various project phases, with a clear focus on design quality and translating/directing the team. You develop creative concepts, investigate their feasibility, and ensure technical clarity (enjoying detailing is a must). In addition, you lead design teams, ensuring the right designers are in the right place within the team. You coordinate and supervise complex projects, both internally and with external stakeholders, with maintaining the design intent as a central focus.

As a Senior Architect, you are responsible for the architectural and technical quality of our projects. You lead complex design processes, manage (junior and medior) team members, and monitor planning, budget, and the integrity of the design. You feel at home in all aspects of the profession: from conceptual thinking to technical development and execution. You get energy from translating ideas into feasible, high-quality architecture.

Location: Utrecht/Amsterdam (Coare office)

Start date: To be discussed, preferably February 1st

Employment: Full-time (32+ hours)

What do you bring?

• A strong sense of humor and style
• You have a master's degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with demonstrably strong design skills
• 5+ years of experience with demonstrably strong coordination skills
• Passion for both architecture (exterior and interior) and society
• Excellent skills in 2D and 3D drawing
• You are eager to learn, self-directed, and enjoy contributing to a collective knowledge culture

What will you do as a construction site manager at COARE?

As a construction site manager, you are in charge of the daily management of the construction site. With your organizational qualities, you make the schedules and are able to monitor them. You are the point of contact for the various subcontractors and with your leadership qualities you ensure that the processes run smoothly. You are present on the construction site to ensure quality. Together with the realization manager, you strive for an optimal end result every time, for large and small projects.
