The job

You will lead a production team of approximately 25 employees, responsible for manufacturing unique, high-end optical products for international customers. You set clear goals for your team based on the production strategy and are accountable for the execution and achievement of the production plan. You monitor performance through KPIs and make timely decisions to ensure targets are met. You initiate, plan, and implement actions that drive continuous improvement across key pillars: People, Quality, Cost, and Delivery Reliability.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of the correct number of products at the required quality level.
• Manage, coach, and plan people, resources, and materials to achieve departmental targets (quality, quantity, cost, and delivery reliability).
• Monitor and report production output based on KPIs such as lead times, production yield, and material/departmental inventory usage.
• Initiate improvement programs to establish and sustain process optimizations.
• Ensure safety standards are maintained on the production floor.
• Provide timely information and escalate issues when necessary.

We are looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a precision mechanical high-tech production environment.
• In-depth knowledge of production processes and a clear understanding of the role of supporting departments.
• Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing (multicultural) teams.
• Experience optimizing production processes in collaboration with various disciplines (e.g., R&D, Purchasing, Maintenance).
• Results-oriented, decisive, and resilient, with natural leadership qualities.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to develop team members through daily coaching and knowledge sharing.
