As solution design engineer logistics you work within this logistics company together with customers to develop innovative solutions and implement them. You are a key player within the company and the different sites we have.

A global logistics and supply chain company delivering end‑to‑end solutions across warehousing, transport, and distribution. We design and implement data‑driven, scalable operations to help customers optimize costs, service, and speed.
Description
As solution design engineer logistics you are:
- Lead a workstream within complex warehouse design projects. Analyse and research logistics subprocesses and end-to-end supply chains for both existing and new customers, based on available data and your knowledge of warehouse solutions gained through relevant experience.
- (Re)design logistics solutions and improvements for subprocesses and complete supply chains (inbound and outbound processes, automation of warehouse and distribution processes, light assembly/semi‑production processes, warehouse layouts, and more).
- Optimise existing processes by acting as the logistics expert within continuous improvement projects run by operational teams.
- Lead implementations or site optimisations to a successful outcome. Prepare full implementation and project plans and follow up on all steps to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
- Resolve and coordinate issues that arise during the design or implementation phase.
- Use the Global Calculation Tool (GCT) and supporting warehouse calculation tools to develop logistics solutions.
- Perform activity‑based cost calculations and support proactive and competitive responses to tenders (RFQs).
- Present advanced solutions to customers, participate in commercial discussions, and convince stakeholders of the strengths of a warehouse solution.
Profile
The perfect solution design engineer logistics has:
- A Master's degree in Logistics (or comparable level through experience) and experience in designing warehouse and supply chain solutions.
- Demonstrable experience in production or logistics engineering; knowledge of automated warehouses and logistics IT solutions is a plus.
- You work independently and take responsibility. You can steer larger projects, including delegating and coordinating tasks.
- Strong experience with cost calculations and pricing/rate setting.
- You are a strong communicator: you tackle issues, lead project meetings, and deliver convincing presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel; basic experience with AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Willing and able to travel within the Benelux for projects and customer visits.
