Second Officer

Location: Northern Europe | Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off

With cutting-edge technology, including W2W gangways and motion-compensated cranes , we deliver safe and efficient solutions while contributing to a greener future.

As a Second Officer onboard Acta Marine vessels, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient sailing while adhering to maritime, safety, and environmental regulations. You will oversee the maintenance of ship's administration, safety equipment, and lifesaving equipment. Acting as a safety officer and chairing the safety committee, you will contribute to the vessel's operational safety and continuity. Additionally, you will work closely with the bridge and deck crew to ensure a cohesive and effective team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, responsible, and environmentally friendly sailing during your watch.
• Familiarize and mentor bridge and deck crew members to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain ship's administration (e.g., ships log, daily reports) and manage the garbage management log.
• Serve as the vessel's safety officer and chair the safety committee.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations onboard.
• Conduct maintenance and testing of safety and lifesaving equipment.
• Implement and execute Acta Marine's Integrated Management System, company policies, and the Ship Security Plan.
• Comply with national and international maritime laws and regulations.
• Optimize vessel production and continuity, ensuring efficient operations.

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications & Experience

• Certification according to the relevant STCW Code (II/1) and Flag State regulations.
• DP Unlimited certificate.
• At least 2 yearsof experience in a similar role, preferably in the offshore wind industry.
