Vacancy Mushroom grower (full time)

Verhoeckx Mushrooms & Fruit is a family business located in Kerkdriel in the Bommelerwaard, a region known for the cultivation of these products. With over 50 years of experience, we have become a renowned cultivation and trading company in fresh mushrooms and hard fruit. Over the years we have grown into an efficient company with modern and partly automated processes. We respond to the wishes and requirements of buyers, consumers and developments in the market. By now we have expanded to a team of over 50 employees who work together daily to ensure the best end result.

For our mushroom cultivation in Ammerzoden we are looking for a mushroom grower. In a team of +/- 30 people you will be responsible (together with 2 colleagues) for the following:

Control and adjust the cultivation of mushrooms

Related administrative tasks

Managing the picking team

Filling & emptying the mushroom cells

Maintenance work

We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

Active & flexible work attitude

Command of the Dutch and (basic) English language

Technically proficient, 2 right hands

Interested in mushroom cultivation, experience is allowed, not necessary

Willing to (alternately) perform necessary work on weekends

Production company

At Verhoeckx in Kerkdriel, near 's-Hertogenbosch, we ensure a supply of mushrooms and hard fruit of the best quality. That is why we are a certified supplier and work according to the regulations of quality and hygiene. This also applies to our own apple farm and the growers with whom we work. Within our company we operate as follows:

• The apples from our apple farm are harvested once a year and brought to our premises in Kerkdriel;
• Then the apples go through the sorting machine, which washes and sorts them by size. In addition, poor quality apples are removed. Then we store them refrigerated in our special, environmentally friendly fruit cooling cells. As a result, they retain their high quality for a longer period of time.
• The apples are packed and labeled for you in small quantities. Then you collect them from us or they are brought by under the right temperature.
