HR Officer (minimum 1 year, 24-32 hours)

WEC Lines is a dynamic medium-sized maritime transport organisation specialising in container transport. With +50 years of experience, our services mainly concentrate on Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Spain (incl. the Canary Islands), the UK, Ireland, Morocco, North and East Africa and the Red Sea.

Due to the expansion of our HR department, we are looking for an HR Officer to join our team.

For our head office in Rotterdam, we are looking for an HR Officer.

In this role, you will ensure that our HR administration runs smoothly and accurately. Are you detail-oriented and enjoy structure? Do you like answering employee questions and see improving administrative processes, preferably through digitisation, as a challenge? Then this position is perfect for you!

The role

You will work closely with the HR Manager as part of the HR team. As the first point of contact for employees, you are responsible for all HR administration. This includes handling the administrative processes for onboarding, internal transfers, and offboarding. You will manage personnel changes, draft contracts, handle correspondence, and provide administrative support to the HR Manager.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Taking care of all administration for onboarding, internal transfers and offboarding.
• Manage administration related to various leave arrangements (parental, maternity, sickness, etc.)
• Provide management reports
• Register and follow up on absenteeism in line with Dutch Gatekeeper Act
• Process changes and prepare payroll administration
• Provide administrative support for recruitment and selection
• Act as the first point of contact for employee question
• Provide additional administrative support for the HR department

What you bring

• A completed bachelor's degree or equivalent level
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in HR administration
• Strong communication skills, integrity, accuracy, alertness, proactivity, and problem-solving ability
• Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Youserve is a plus
• Excellent command of Dutch, both written and spoken
