Your Role

As a Project Buyer, you'll drive procurement for international datacenter projects across Europe, focusing on complex technical components and modular structures. You'll be a key collaborator with engineering, sales, and project management, actively contributing to process improvement and supplier selection. You'll join a close-knit, multicultural team of 12 in The Hague, where collaboration, respect, and humor are valued. This role thrives on speed and flexibility in an agile, occasionally chaotic environment.

We are seeking an individual who excels at working in a structured and organized manner, ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed diligently. At the same time, you should be comfortable managing the unexpected, adapting quickly to ad hoc challenges that frequently arise in a project-based environment. This includes effectively addressing evolving client requirements, as well as changes in technical specifications and the commercial consequences thereof that may emerge during the project's course. The pressure is on; high stakes from higher management. Keep your calm and collaborate with your colleagues to ensure great outcomes.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end procurement process for technical equipment such as transformers, control cabinets, and modular structures, from strategic advising to contract finalization.
• Lead and Coordinate Requests for Quotations and prepare total cost of ownership comparisons incl. product specific price breakdown
• Understanding the material cost structures and dynamic market situation for the equipment assigned to you
• Lead contract negotiations and secure price agreements with various suppliers
• Lead the supplier selection, prepare and document contract awards
• Support in claim management and escalation procedures towards suppliers
• In principle, source to contract and basic buying principles you master and can even coach to help other candidates.
• Build and manage a robust international supplier network

Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supporting strategic initiatives in sustainability and digitalization.

Your Background

• Minimum 10 years of project procurement experience, with at least 5 years focused on technical equipment and familiarity with international contracts.
• Strong affinity for technology, a deep understanding of complex technical products, and fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Proactive, analytical, and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• A Bachelor's degree in procurement/supply chain or a NEVI 2 certification is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and Power BI is a plus.
