Your position

For our procurement department we are looking for an experienced strategic buyer. The challenge in this position lies in improving and strengthening our procurement on a strategic level. Do you have a technical background and are you also commercially strong? Then we would like to invite you for an introduction!

For over 75 years, Moba has been making total solutions for grading, packing and processing eggs that are sold all over the world. Over the years, Moba has become a world market leader with systems in 111 different countries, processing more than 1 billion eggs every day. From design, development, production and installation to service, it all happens in Barneveld.

As Strategic Purchaser you are responsible for our procurement policy. Together with some immediate colleagues you set out our strategic purchasing policy and you are a liaison between the various stakeholders inside and outside the organization. By actively supporting our processes early on, you ensure that procurement specifications are quickly clear.

What concrete work can you think of?

- Matching business needs with market opportunities, monitoring market developments and identifying opportunities and possibilities;

- You will be the connecting factor between the global supplier market and our R&D / supply chain department, in order to involve suppliers at the right time in new developments;

- Through market research and a thorough selection process, a supplier choice is made on which negotiations follow. Here cost price, quality, flexibility and reliability are important points of attention. During this process you will stay in close contact with our R&D department in order to keep abreast of current and future needs;

- Participate in make/buy arguments of modules/components;

- Working out supplier agreements such as financial and logistical supplier terms and conditions;

- Manage new introductions and changes in the external supply chain;

- Forecast and anticipate risks and disruptions in the external supply chain to prevent customer dissatisfaction;

- You make agreements with suppliers regarding "performance improvement" and monitor these using the QLTC principle;

- Develop and implement a "continuous improvement" approach based on the lean methodology, which enables employees to work in good cooperation with colleagues (also from other departments) in a joint process.

What we ask of you

• Relevant HBO/WO education towards supply chain/logistics management, operations management, (technical) business administration, mechanical engineering;
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar position with an international and technical company;
• Experience with the financial-economic aspects related to procurement;
• Familiar with automation systems (ERP system, Word and Excel);
• Experience in an industrial (mechanical engineering) environment is a plus;
• Good command (verbal and written) of the Dutch and English languages.
