Internal technical sales representative

To support our ambitious growth plans, we're expanding our specialist team with a driven Internal Technical Sales Representative who shares our passion for technology and wants to contribute to the further growth and innovation of our company.

The role

As an Internal Technical Sales Representative, you are the link between customers and the internal organisation. You prepare technical quotations and cost calculations based on customer requirements and technical specifications. You maintain regular contact with customers, by phone and emai, and ensure accurate, customer-focused handling of all requests and quotations.

In addition, you are responsible for preparing the weekly personnel schedule for the technical team. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and always keep the company's commercial goals in mind.

key responsibilities

1. Technical quotations :
   • Process customer requests into technical quotations, taking into account the specific requirements and technical feasibility.
   • Analyse technical drawings, specifications and customer needs to offer the right products and solutions.
   • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of quotations and follow up with the customer through to order processing.
2. Calculations and cost estimates:
   • Prepare detailed cost calculations and pricing estimates for projects and orders.
   • Determine cost prices based on materials, labour hours and other cost factors.
   • Collaborate with the technical team to optimise quotations and calculations for technical feasibility.
3. Customer contact and relationship management:
   • Act as the first point of contact for customers by phone and email.
   • Advise customers on technical solutions, products and options.
   • Maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through a proactive and service-oriented approach.
4. Personnel planning
   • Prepare the weekly staff schedule for the technical team, taking capacity needs and project deadlines into account.
   • Ensure efficient allocation of personnel while maintaining awareness of workload and availability.
   • Communicate and coordinate with other departments regarding staffing and project progress.

What we expect from you

• MBO+ / HBO level of education, preferably in a technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, combining technical and commercial skills.
• Basic knowledge of technical drawings, materials and production methods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong multitasking and planning abilities, with an eye for detail and deadlines.
• A commercial mindset and ability to develop customer-focused solutions.
• Experience with AFAS Insite is an advantage.

• Salary according to the CAO Metaal & Techniek (€3,600-€4,600 gross, based on 40 hours).
